(max 30 participants)
Ghassan Rahmi is from Syria. He now lives in Holstebro. Ghassan is an interpreter for the Danish Refugee Council (Dansk Flygtningehjælp), a medical assistant at the Red Cross – Holstebro, a member of the Integration City Council – Holstebro and the Head of the Danish Syrian Home – Holstebro / Struer.
In my presentation, I will discuss: How is it to be a refugee? Which challenges or difficulties do you meet?
It starts when you lose and ends when you survive.
I had been working as a volunteer for the Syrian Red Crescent since 2004. I had worked with the Iraqi, Palestinian and Lebanese refugees. At that time, I had the passion and sympathy but not the understanding of how it is to be a refugee.
