“Techniques for Contact Improvisation Dance”

Saturday, the 12th of May, 9:30  – 11:00 & 11:30 – 12:30, Conference Hall

(min eight, max 30 participants, wear comfortable clothes, you will have 30 minutes to refresh and change before lunch)

BACKGROUND

Contact Improvisation Dance involves the exploration from one’s body to the next by using the fundamentals of sharing weight, touch, being kinetically aware and finding a point of contact between you and your partner(s).

CONTENT

In this workshop we will explore, body awareness, breathing techniques, balance, counterbalance, rhythm, non-verbal communication, the skills of falling, rolling and responsiveness to our partners and surroundings.

Participants of the workshop will be invited to perform during the evening programme at 20:00.

ABOUT SANDRO

Sandro Masai is a Brazilian performance artist, interaction designer and researcher living in Denmark since 2007. His performances include acting in films, theatre plays, modern dance, butoh dance and performance art.
